The maximum difference in altitude of the city’s terrain is only 140 m. The altitudes of 220-260 m above sea level are typical for the hill area in the South-West part of the city. According to the accepted Olympic River concept, the Olympic Village and most of the competition venues are and will be located in the areas alongside the Moscow River at the average altitude of 120-160 m above sea level.
