Bid Book Book3 Technology Networks Linking Olympic Venues

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are expected to utilize substantial resources and capacities of the telecommunications facilities available in Moscow. This infrastructure fully includes the city and links all existing sports venues.

Aside from the traditional wire networks, there are also up-to-date fibre optic lines in Moscow. In either case 100% local coverage is guaranteed. Moreover, the city network capacities continue expanding.

The Moscow telecommunications sector offers a wide variety of services, including fixed telephony, data transmission, mobile telephony, paging, Internet, multimedia, trunk radio, broadcasting, etc. The channels and equipment required for provision and support of the above services are available at virtually all city sports venues.

Moscow has an extensive experience in arranging for live broadcast of sports, cultural and official events of various levels. The necessary technical infrastructure, including appropriate facilities and networks at sports venues, is also available.

The next 3-4 years will witness further large-scale renovation of the Moscow telecommunications infrastructure. In certain cases this will lead to fundamental changes of its potential. As the result, the respective level and range of telecommunications services provided will be additionally improved prior to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
