The operational implementation of Olympic security is estimated to require some 37,000 police staff. At least 8-10% of them will come from the Moscow Region. The Olympic security plan will also involve about 10,000 firemen, rescue workers, doctors and other personnel (entirely local staff) of the city emergency and rescue services. The necessary staff will be provided by a number of special-purpose services and private security companies.
In addition to the above human resources, some 12,000 local volunteers (militia units) may be engaged in the security implementation.
The estimated total human resources needed for the efficient organisation of the Olympic security plan reflect the respective international experience and Moscow special features as outlined in our Olympic Plan.
